Designed after the sixteenth-century Palazzo della Cancelleria in Rome, Italy, the open-air Courtyard bridges the McKim Building and Boylston Street Building, providing an idyllic backdrop for an Italian-Inspired strolling reception.  As guests enter the oasis, they are greeted by servers passing glasses of prosecco, limoncello, and Aperol spritzes. Live music, folk dancers with tambourines’ and rich aromas float in the air while a painter, one would see on the streets of Rome, is ready for individual and group portraits. From concept to execution, The Catered Affair’s award-winning team plans all aspects of your celebration, including venue selection, menu planning, vendor coordination, brand activations, event design, and production.

Design Details

An abundance of Olive Branches, Hand-Calligraphed Wooden Boards, Jars of Artisanal Pastas, Themed Directional Signage, Terra Cotta Serving Pieces, Unique Lounge Sets, and Custom Barware are used in the event design.

The Feast

The Catered Affair customizes menus to accommodate all tastes and preferences. This menu is representative of an Italian-Inspired strolling corporate outing. 

 

Traveling Meatballs | Mini Beef + Chicken Meatballs on petite skewers, served from a roaming custom cart. 

Bountiful Burrata Bar | Burrattini, artisan bread, prosciutto di parma, marinated shrimp, squid, heirloom tomatoes, stone fruit, eggplant, arugula, seasoned melon, olive tapenade, pesto, fresh basil and mint, olive oil & balsamic 

Pasta Fresca | A Chef-Attended Feast of Campanelle, herb ricotta ravioli, gluten-free pasta with a selection of sauces including amatriciana, arugula pesto, parmesan cream, or aglio e olio with accompaniments as follows:  veal meatballs, herb-roasted chicken, wild mushrooms, eggplant, peppers, caramelized onions, parmigiano-reggiano, hot pepper flakes 

Palazzo Pizza | Italian-inspired pizzas, including Margherita, Pesto, Prosciutto, Seafood, etc.

Aperitivo Hour

Sip cocktails in unique and colored glassware while reveling in the ambiance: Italian Spritz, Frozen Popsicles in Limoncello Lemon Drops, La Fontina Frose, Mediterranean Margarita, and Summer Sangria.
