Spend the Evening in Boston Public Library’s Courtyard

At the Boston Public Library, the fresh air is calling your name. Whether it’s spring, summer, or early fall – sharing an intimate celebration in the open air is the best way to immerse yourself in the seasons of New England. A quiet gem in the middle of bustling Copley Square, the courtyard is our favorite place to entertain in the warmer months. Tucked away between the two buildings of our favorite library, we love creating sophisticated al fresco celebrations in the courtyard.

If you are planning a corporate dinner, milestone birthday, retirement party, or other special event, a courtyard reception could be the perfect setting. Your guests will enjoy sipping cocktails while exploring the beautiful details of the Italianate style space.

Whether you’re envisioning an elegant cocktail hour or a full course dinner in the Courtyard, The Catered Affair will help you create an unforgettable experience at this unique, historic location.

Italianate Style Location

“Al fresco” in Italian translates to “in open air.” The courtyard’s arcaded promenade, after all, was created with Rome’s Cancellaria Palace in mind. Guests will be entranced by the intricacies artist Frederick William MacMmonies depicted in his “Dancing Bacchante and Infant Faun” statue, the centerpiece of the Courtyard’s beautiful fountain.

In addition to the spectacular existing adornments, there is plenty of space for a small band, floral arrangements, and lighting displays which would add to your celebration under the stars.
